ABOUT ME
A LIFE OF MUSIC
Having grown up for 10 years in Arkansas while his mother, an artist, and mentally handicapped brother moved between three or four towns that his father preached at as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, John and his family moved to Fairfax County in northern Virginia. John first started playing the saxophone in 6th grade. When he moved to a new school across town in 8th grade, he was convinced to start playing the baritone saxophone. Through high school he got the opportunity to play with the Lake Braddock Symphonic band in the Midwest Clinic, the American Bandmasters Association 70th Annual Convention, and performed in Gatlinburg, Orlando, Atlanta, and New York City. Playing with the jazz band he was able to play at the Chantilly Jazz Festival and in the American National History Museum for the Smithsonian Jazz Appreciation Month Celebration. He played in the district bands and in the All State band. John first started composing songs around 10th grade. His first piece to be performed in public was "I Want to Go, But I Don't Want to Leave" written for the Lake Braddock Trombone Choir. He wrote many simple pieces for piano which he taught himself how to play. His real experiences with composition didn't start kicking off until he made it to college. Attending Texas Tech University as a Music Education major, John studied saxophone under David Dees and traveled to Venice, Italy and Ljubljana, Slovenia for the 14th World Saxophone Congress. He started studying the performance of Jazz more seriously under the direction of Brad Leali. With their help, John was able to compose pieces for saxophone quartet and jazz big band with hopes of getting them performed by high level ensembles. The first big accomplishment was "Blue Funk" premiered by the top Jazz Orchestra at Tech. Professor Leali then began to really help and coach John's Jazz compositions. The completion and performance of "She's Beautiful" would be one of the early high points of John's compositional career. With things beginning to pick up for John, the future looks bright. Always looking for more to do, John is getting excited by requests ranging from master's thesis documentary projects to wedding arrangements. John also hopes to write a new piece for concert band to be premiered by the Lake Braddock Secondary School Symphonic Band. John is also excited to be getting new equipment and software like Sibelius 5 and USB interfaces for his new computer. The only thing John can think to do is thank God for the wonderful family and friends that He has given him and pray He will continue to bless his life and talents for good.

THE LOGAN KRAFT BAND
The Logan Kraft BandWith their harmony driven pop rock texture, woven together with threads of blues and folk, The Logan Kraft Band has generated a truly unique and energetic sound inspired by artists such as John Mayer, the Allman Brothers, and Maroon 5. The band first came together while Logan was in the studio working on his debut album, Problems, when he decided he wanted to be able to recreate the studio sound in a live setting. The Logan Kraft Band has come a long way since they began in the fall of 2009. Starting out as a mostly original band with a constantly changing line up, they have emerged into a six man, (well, five men and one woman), team that plays a mixture of originals and diverse covers. The band has now played at weddings, private parties, popular local venues such as Jammin Java, as well as festivals including the Annandale Fall Festival and CureSearch Walks for pediatric cancer research. The band continues to push its boundaries by learning new material, incorporating new musical styles, and writing new original songs. Through hard work, practice, and determination, The Logan Kraft Band is proving they are here to stay as they carve out a space for themselves on the local music scene as a band to be remembered.
