The Film Score Compositions

Joe Ensley is a 21 year old filmmaker currently attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Ensley started making
movies his senior year of high school where his film, "Happenstance" was a finalist in the Fairfax County Film Festival.
The 2nd film Ensley made during his freshman year of college titled, "Serene" explored issues of drug addiction
and bulimia. Serene went on to win the Best Young Filmmaker award at the 2006 Appalachain Film Festival. His latest film,
"Joy" has won the first place award at the George Mason Uber Film Festival and the Best Young Filmmaker award for
the second consecutive year in 2007. Additionally, "Joy" has received the Directors Choice Award for student films
at the Bluegrass Independent Film Festival and nominated for the Best Upcoming Filmmaker award at the Southern Winds Film
Festival. "Joy" has been screened internationally and the list of screenings include: Swansea Bay Film Festival,
Everglades International Film Festival, Flint Film Festival, Twin Rivers Media Festival, Estes Park Film Festival, and the
Cackalacky Film Festival. Ensley has also been ranked as one of the top 200 college photographers in a worldwide photography
contest hosted by Photographers Forum Magazine.

Joe and John first met in their senior English class at Lake Braddock taught by Sonja Curry-Johnson. When Joe got started
on his second film "Serene" and needed a soundtrack for it, He remembered that John was one of those band nerds
back in high school and got hold of him online and asked if he'd be interested in writing something for the film. It was John's
first effort of this sort and he loved it.
When Joe's third film "Joy" came along, he asked John for his services again and John jumped at the opportunity.
Collaboration was the first obstacle they as a team had to hurdle. Joe being in Burke, Virginia, and John being at school
in Lubbock, Texas, most of their collaboration was done over the internet. Joe was able to mail a DVD of a rough cut of the
film and John was able to upload the mp3s of the music online and they were able to mix and edit things fluidly from there.
With "Joy" ending as a success and a good working relationship between the two, Joe and John see being partners
for years to come, helping each other in their endeavors along the way however they can.
